Thesis work

Abstract

My thesis work involved creating a corporate identity and designing packaging for the company’s products.

The whole process has been very multifaceted and much more extensive than I could ever have imagine. Making a corporate identity is divided into several different steps. The process begins with an evaluation of a company and its business in order to help the staff work out a more functioning entirety, both structurally and visually. Designing the company’s packaging products, which was another aspect of my work, was a natural continuance after creating the graphical profile for the client.

The final result gave the client a more structured business, with a well functioning entirety, made up by the company’s graphical image and the new look of the packaging products.

Success!

The vernissage went great. The evaluation I had today went great. And tomorrow I'll get my grade. Soon, soon I'm finished with my thesis work..Only one presentation left to do, but it won't be a problem. It's just a 'small' one for the rest of the school, that will say the ones that are interested enough to show up.

Finally!

I've handed in my thesis work for evaluation now. Finally.

It's been crazy weeks, months, full of work, therefore my radio silence.

Though, it's not quite over yet..

This Thursday me and my classmates have the vernissage of our exhibition of our thesis works, so for the moment we are busy preparing for everything.

After that we will keep two presentations of our works and await the final mark.

THEN I should be quite done with school and finally get my Bachelor in design.

Burma goes Papper

The Mars issue of Papper is out now. In the middle of the magazine you'll find my Burma illustration, but there with yellow background. A very good choice of them I must say.

Me - a designer

I was serving myself lunch at the local Chinese restaurant yesterday when a little girl about five years old, I've never seen, before pointed at me and said to her mom "Look, a designer!"

She was right and I was happy.

Burma pattern

Keep your eyes open for this pattern in the next issue of Papper (April 2008). It's a pattern made for a text on Burma. The illustration are built up from elements from the text and from some inspiration pictures.

I don't know yet which background color they are going to use, but this was one of the proposals.

An enlargement of the illustration itself.

Papper is the only free Swedish magazine to be found in its genre in Finland. Soon you'll also be able to download it from their website. I'll notify when.

Jo33 in cyberspace

Scroll down to the middle of the page at Designbooms snapshots from Greenhouse at Stockholm Furniture fair and you'll see a glimt of my make-up table 'Isis'.

While you're at it you can take a look at Nordisk Interiör's Web TV and you'll see me in action being interviewed from the place happening, again, Greenhouse. If you hold on about 3,3o minutes you'll see the shooting from our stand.

My workspace

I was tagged by Maria to show my workspace, so here it is.
Enjoy.

So, this is my workspace at home. I work sitting on a gymnastics ball, to improve my posture. Efficiency, oh yeah.

My fantastic Mac and my lovely drawing board are my main work tools.

Inspiration toys. The dog is a gift from a very good friend; Manu. It's a souvenir from her study town Gmünd in Germany.

The illustration of the funny man is an enlargement from the CD cover of Matchbox Twenty's album Mad Season. Isn't he lovely ?

The 'I love Joss' (Joss=my nickname) card was a gift from a friend on Valentine's day once in primary school.

Small facts: Two pieces of 'Savannah I' pillow cases are still avaliable (the ones on top), price: 30€ /pcs +shipping, otherwise, made upon order.
